Thank you for your email of 16 October 2025, in which you request the fol owing under the
Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):
“Since 19 September 2024, has Mr Peters met with Juliet Moses or any other
representatives of the New Zealand Jewish Council, and if so, on what occasions?
Please provide al instances of communications between Peters in his capacity as
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Moses and other representatives of the
New Zealand Jewish Council. These should be delivered in their original form, not as
summaries.
Under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA), I request al advice, meeting notes and
communications (emails, text messages, Whatsapp, Teams messages) regarding
meetings held with the representatives of the NZ Jewish Council since 7 October 2023.”
On 14 November 2025, the timeframes for responding to your request were extended by an
additional10 working days because responding to your request necessitated the review of a
large quantity of information (section 15A(1)(a) of the OIA refers).
Part one of your request is refused under section 18(d) of the OIA because Ministerial diaries
are publicly available on the Beehive website:

Part two of your request is withheld in its entirely under section 9 of the OIA. Information is
withheld under the fol owing sections:
9(2)(c) avoid prejudice to measures protecting the health or safety of members of the
public;
9(2)(g)(2) the protection of such Ministers, members of organisation, officers, and
employees from improper pressure or harassment; and
9(2)(k) prevent the disclosure or use of official information for improper gain or
improper advantage

Where the information has been withheld under section 9 of the OIA, no public interest in
releasing the information has been identified that would override the reasons for withholding
it.
