Thank you for your request sent on 06 December 2025 requesting the information as fol ow.  
 
Could you please confirm the number of vacancies you are seeking to fill for Professional Member 
and Lay Member roles on the Complaints Assessment Committee and member role for the New 
Zealand Teachers’ Disciplinary Tribunal, as well as the number of applications received to date?  
Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could let me know how many candidates have been 
shortlisted and how many have been interviewed so far. A copy of the ad and where you have 
advertised it. 
 
The Council has considered your request under the Official Information Act and can advise as follows.  
 
There is no definite number for the number of individuals (lay or professional) who can be a member of 
the Complaints Assessment Committee (CAC) or the Disciplinary Tribunal (DT).  The number of 
individuals who are successful y selected is dependent on the suitability of applicants.  However, the 
Council aims for approximately 10 lay members and 10 professional members on the CAC, and 10 
members on the DT.  
 
The Council received 60 applications for the CAC (20 professional, 40 lay).  
 
The Council received 32 applications for the DT.  
 
No shortlisting process or interviewing has commenced for either panel.  
 
We have provided a copy of the job advertisements which were advertised on Seek.  
 
You have the right to request to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this response.
