I refer to your request for information dated 6 October 2025, which was received by Greater
Wellington Regional Council (Greater Wellington) on 6 October 2025. You have requested the
following:
“Please provide any LiDAR DSM or DEM data held by GWRC for 1044 Coast Road. This includes
any data collected during any assessment of the property.”
Greater Wellington’s response follows:
Please find included in the attached zipped file geodatabase the following gridded (raster) DEM
and DSM products generated from LiDAR capture (at 1m resolution) as well as the raw file
outputs (.tif or .asc) for the areas intersecting the property at 1044 Coast Road Wainuiomata
2025 products (captured 8 February 2025 by LandPro for Greater Wellington) - Datasets
saved as ESRI raster grids, 1m horizontal resolution

Bathymetric DEM (No1044CoastRoadDEMBathy) - a bare earth surface, excluding
trees, buildings, and other objects but also representing the underwater terrain of
oceans, seas, lakes, and rivers
•
Topographic DEM (No1044CoastRoadDEMTopo) - hydroflattened - as above but water
areas are represented as a flat surface
•
Hydroflattened DSM (No1044CoastRoadDSMHydro) - a surface representing the
highest visible surface at each location, including natural and man-made features
(including objects like trees, buildings and other structures). As above water areas are
represented as flat surfaces
