Introductory remarks 
1.  Thank you for taking the time to meet. I’ve heard a lot from my Officials about CDS and 
the domestic destruction facility you are establishing in Kawerau.  
Questions about the SPARC technology and consenting process 
2.  Can you tell me about the SPARC technology and why CDS selected to use this specific 
type of destruction technology?  
3.  Can you tell me about the consents you are required to obtain before the facility can 
operate, and where you are in the consenting process?

4.  Thank you for the invitation to officially open the SPARC facility in Kawerau and 
congratulations on all the work you’ve done to prepare for the facility’s opening.

Importation of ODS for destruction 
6.  Thank you for the information you have recently provided to Officials regarding your 
estimation of existing ODS in several Pacific Island countries.  
7.  As your aware, ODS importation for the purpose of destruction is currently not provided 
for under the Ozone Layer Protection Regulations 1996.  
8.  Once the CDS facility has been fully commissioned, I plan to seek advice from Officials 
regarding the current OLPR settings on import for destruction.
