Airport Police staff have trained with commercial helicopter providers and completed
training flights.

Airport Police staff have completed the ‘external crew training course in operational
helicopter safety’.

Police radios are installed in a number of airframes to improve the quality of radio
transmissions compared to portable radios.

helicopters is withheld in full in accordance with section 6(c) of the OIA, as the making
available of the information would be likely to prejudice the maintenance of the law,
including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences, and the right to a fair
trial.

Does Police currently have a formal contract, standing agreement, or Memorandum
of Understanding with Christchurch Helicopters for this work? If so, please provide
copies of these documents or a summary of their key terms?
Commercial helicopters are hired based on who is available and best suited for the task
required. No formal agreements are held with any provider.
