Thank you for your request of 1 October 2025 to Fire and Emergency New Zealand requesting the 
following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA): 
 
•  I am requesting a copy of both the current Fire and Emergency NZ Fire investigation policy, 
commonly referred to as P3. 
 
I am also requesting a copy of the new draft P3 policy that has been developed and is 
awaiting implementation / sign off. 
 
On 1 October 2025, we reached out to you to ask for evidence that you satisfy any of the criteria 
noted in section 12 of the OIA so that we could determine your eligibility to make a request under 
the OIA. Unfortunately, we have not received your reply, and for this reason we will not consider 
your request under the OIA. 
 
However, please be advised that we do publish some information about fire investigations, and
