Request for information
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 23 October 2025. You
requested:
A copy of the official training materials, manuals, or curriculum documents
that are provided to NZ Police officers regarding the correct and consistent
completion of TCRs to ensure the integrity of the data being fed into CAS.
Traffic Crash Report (TCR) training is delivered in the Recruit Initial training 20-week
curriculum and incorporates instruction on Infringement Notices and Written Traffic
Warnings.
One part of the training is delivered in week 16, a 90-minute session with the second part
of the training being delivered in week 18, a 45-minute session.

Some information you requested is being withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA, as its
release would involve an unreasonable disclosure of personal information and would
prejudice the privacy of natural persons.

maintenance of the law, including the prevention, investigation, and detection of offences,
and the right to a fair trial.
