A. Praise/Thanks Received
Please provide all correspondence MFAT has received since 27 September 2025
that praises, congratulates, thanks, or otherwise expresses support for New
Zealand’s decision not to recognise a Palestinian state. Include details such as the
sender, recipient, date, and a copy of the correspondence.
B. Prior Notification
Please include any records showing whether MFAT or the Minister informed,
consulted, or otherwise notified Israel or the United States of this decision before
the UN announcement on 27 September 2025.
Response to your request
Regarding part A of your request, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (the Ministry)
has not identified any information in scope of your request. Accordingly, this part of your
request is refused under section 18(e) as the information does not exist, or despite best
efforts to locate it, cannot be found.
Regarding part B of your request, neither Israel nor the United States were informed of
this decision prior to its announcement. Accordingly, this part of your request is refused
under section 18(e) of the OIA, as the information does not exist, or despite best efforts
to locate it, cannot be found.
