Thank you for your email of 27 September 2025 in which you request the fol owing under the
Official Information Act 1982 (OIA):
Please provide advice/reports relating to the decision to announce
Aotearoa/New Zealand's position on Palestinian statehood.
Response to your request
The relevant Cabinet material regarding the recognition of Palestine has been proactively
released. This information can be found on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (the
Ministry) website: https://www.mfat.govt.nz/en/media-and-resources/recognition-of-palestine-
options-for-new-zealand
The Ministry is also preparing to proactively release key advice and correspondence regarding
Palestinian state recognition. This information wil be published no later than the
26 November 2025, and wil be available on the Ministry’s website: Israel-Hamas Conflict |
