Response to your request for information 
 
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) on 23 
September 2025 to Hon Simeon Brown, Minister of the Crown. 
 
You requested:  
 
“For each staff member in your Office, including the Minister himself, could you 
please provide the fol owing information for the month of September. 
 
- How many outgoing phone cal s they made 
- How many incoming phone cal s they received 
- How many emails they sent 
- How many emails they received 
 
To be clear, I am looking for a total number for each of the above categories for the 
month of September (1 September to the date of this request), for each staff member 
+ the Minister.  
 
You do not have to name the staff member; the job title is enough.” 
 
On 7 October 2025, our Office contacted you to clarify and refine your request, as it was 
likely to involve searching through a substantial amount of information and could therefore 
have section 18(f) of the Act applied. 
 
On 8 October 2025, you confirmed refinement of your initial request to the fol owing: 
 
“I would like to keep the scope of this request as al  staff please, including private 
secretaries. I am wil ing to limit the timeframe to 3 working days, the 15th, 16th and 
17th of September.” 
 
I am interpreting your request for the number of phone cal s made and received by each staff 
member to refer to cal s made and received on the cel ular devices issued by their respective 
government agency employers.
