Congratulations on the announcement – all seems to have gone pretty well and have been
positively received in NZ at least! I’ve had so many videos to watch from NZ journalists that I
haven’t sought out any Australian ones.
As part of our liaison role with NZ Police we’d like to let them know when the first customer
vehicles are on the road. Appreciate you might not be able to tell me ahead of time, but once it’s
happened I’d really appreciate knowing. Would also be good to know about total numbers too, if
possible.
Looking forward to catching up in a couple of weeks!

A NZ motoring journal has indicated that it has news from Tesla which it will publish at 2pm on

that one of our roles is to provide technical information to the NZ Police on road traffic things, and

we’d like to let them know – but I don’t want to let thousands of front line officers know ahead of
when you want it to go out.

Hi Brent – all very good questions, and appreciate a few of these are because we haven’t been out to
NZ yet to walk you through the system in-person which makes everything much clearer, so thanks for
your patience with us on that.

1.  Unfortunately we can’t comment on specific launch timings, but can confirm its “days” not
“weeks” if that helps
2.  Yes correct, we’ll update the owners manuals for ANZ to include FSD(S) once it becomes an
1982
available feature- but do recommend looking at the US version for a preview of the content, as
you've already done.

3.  In addition, there are additional prompts and notification alerts when the driver first activates
FSD(S), which reminds the driver that “it must be used with additional caution and an attentive
driver” and “not to become complacent”, confirms use of driver monitoring (which will continue
to alert the driver throughout, as detailed in the manual):

address this when together in Wellington/Auckland/online as I’m sure there will be additional
questions of this nature post launch
