Official Information Act request relating to Ministerial operations
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request, received on 5 September
2025. You requested:
“I've heard there are management issues within the DPMC Ministerial/OIA team.
Outside of these issues my OIA request is as follows:
How many staff have resigned from the Mins/OIA team between June 2024 and August
2025.
How many complaints have been sent to the DMPC HR team regarding the current
manager between June 2024 and 30 August 2025.
It's astonishing how little DPMC does to protect/recognise serious complaints made
against managers such as the current manager of the OIA team. Please do a better job
in the future. Employ managers who actually want to see their staff succeed, instead of
managers who set out to destroy good employee's lives”
Your request appears to be an attempt to litigate complaints against a specific staff
member, in a personal and targeted manner. In the circumstances, we are concerned
this request is not a genuine request for official information. In forming this conclusion,
we have considered the context of your request, including that you have made a
serious allegation against a staff member in a public forum where the staff member
concerned has no right of reply. We consider your request to be vexatious accordingly,
it is refused under section 18(h) of the Act.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under
section 28(3) of the Act.
We do not intend to publish this response on the Department of the Prime Minister and
Cabinet’s website.
