I also received another Mayoral nom at Proctor after 4pm..
Def worth a follow up tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon - after 3.
I expect we will get flooded with noms tomorrow. And quietly hoping NOT on Friday!! BUT
because noms close on Friday pretty sure we have an update scheduled then as well.
Todays comms do say “as of 3pm” .. Ken/Nicola G/Jace and I were talking all afternoon -
decision was made to “create a buzz” and some urgency for people to stand / think
about elections with the comms that were sent today.
On another note - the other Mayoral nom I received is from Joshua Riley affiliated to
"Sovereign" - they have nationally been identified as a risk due to aggressive behavior in
other parts of the country. We faced them last election as they put up a candidate for
every role - and they are cunning in their approach and bring confronting questions about
the validity of council as an org / anti establishment / anti fluoride etc / how money is
spent in council etc
He also has an open LGOIMA (at least one to my knowledge- with Jacine I believe re:
Strategic Relationships). He mentioned during the process of lodging his nom that he
was disappointed with the requested extension for us to provide him with the info he
requested, and I expect he may publicly begin to share that FNDC is "with holding info"
or similar .. we can keep our eyes open and bring that to your attention should it arise.
