Dear John,
Thank you for your email of 28 August 2025 requesting information relating to nominations
for the National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee (NAWAC). Your request has been
considered under the Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA).
You requested the following:
I noted, you have recently call for nomination for National Animal Welfare Advisory
Committee.
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call
for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad as well. Also, how
many applications you have received for each of the role from the public and how
many you have received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of
women etc for your role.
How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed. How many
vacancy you had for this round.
These appointments were advertised on the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) Careers website,
Seek, and Ahu Jobs, between 4 and 25 August 2025. Additionally, the Ministry of Disabled People,
the Ministry for Women, and the Ministry for Ethnic Communities were asked for nominations.
Please find a copy of the advertisement posted on all sites attached as Appendix One.
There were 29 applications received. No nominations were received directly from nominating
agencies.
The roles for NAWAC are currently under consideration. As such, we are unable to provide
information regarding shortlisted applicants or status of interviews. There are five current
committee members who have a term expiring in 2025.
