Official information request for grade distributions 
 
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) 
dated 28 August 2025: 
 
“Please provide the grade distributions for all EEEN, ENGR courses, and 
NWEN241 in Trimester 1, 2025.” 
 
On 1 September 2025 we provided a response to this request. On 12 December 2025 you 
alerted us to a discrepancy in the data provided to you and another request made via the 
FYI website. We thank you for bringing this to our attention. 
 
We have been advised that this was due to an Excel pivot setting that was counting rows 
of data instead of summing the registered students who received a certain grade. We 
apologise for any inconvenience this has caused. 
 
Please see Annex A for the correct, updated data which reflects the actual number of 
students in each grade category, accurate as at 16 December 2025. Please note: 
• 
Some of these numbers will be different due to an individual student’s grade being 
finalised over time, rather than being due to incorrect collation. 
• 
The grand total does not represent the total class numbers, as the data does not 
include information on students who have withdrawn from the course. 
• 
Due to the very small course size, the grade distribution for ENGR440 is withheld 
under s 9(2)(a) of the OIA, to protect the privacy of individuals. 
•
