Your Official Information Act 1982 request, reference OIA2526-0239
I refer to your information request dated 26 August 2025, seeking the fol owing information
under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
information related to the $100 mil ion “Local Government Flood Resilience Co-
Investment Fund”, as described under the “Initiatives for North Island Weather Events
Response and Recovery Package” in the 2023 Budget:
1. Al Cabinet papers, Ministerial briefings, internal advice, or other documents
that supported or informed the creation of this Fund.
2. Any documents that outline the purpose, scope, criteria, or proposed
mechanisms for how the funding wil be al ocated or accessed
3. Any documents relating to the eligibility criteria for the fund,
4. Any material prepared for or by the Minister of Local Government, Minister for
Regional Economic Development, Minister for Climate Change, or Minister of
Finance, relating to the joint agreement required to draw down the tagged
contingency.
5. Any documents that confirm approval or agreement to the use of the fund, if
that has occurred.
Extension of your request
Under section 15A(1)(b) of the Act, the timeframe to respond to your request has been
extended by 5 working days to 30 September 2025. This is because consultations necessary
to make a decision on your request are such that we cannot respond within the original time
limit.
We wil endeavour to provide you with a response earlier if possible.
