Extension of time to respond to request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 19 August 2025 requesting the following information under the 
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
I am writing to request al  information and communications since 1 Jan 2022 within NZTA 
and between NZTA and external parties regarding works or upgrades on the SH8 /Lindis 
bridge crossing. 
 
On 22 August you clarified your request to be for: 
 
Please restrict this request to information on the intersection and bridge as a result of 
plans for the proposed gold mine by Matakanui Gold and/or Santana minerals. 
 
This letter is to advise you that NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is extending the 20 
working days available to respond to your request, as allowed for under section 15A of the Act. 
We require an additional 10 working days and wil  send you a response on or before 3 October 
2025.  
 
The deadline is being extended as the consultations necessary to make a decision on your 
request are such that a thorough response cannot reasonably be made within the original 20-
working-day limit.  
 
Under section 28 of the Act, you have the right to complain to the Ombudsman about the 
extension. More information about the Ombudsman is available online at 
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
