Official Information Act Request
Thank you for your request, partially transferred to NZQA from the Ministry of Education, under the
Of icial Information Act 1982 seeking the following information:
Part 1: The Consolidated Pilot Data Set
Provide the single, final, and aggregated spreadsheet (e.g., in CSV or Excel format) that contains
the summary results from all official pilot programs and school trials for the original, universal NCEA
Literacy and Numeracy co-requisite standards conducted between 2021 and 2022. This
spreadsheet must include the final pass rates, broken down by Ethnicity (specifically for the
categories: Māori, Pacific, Asian, and European/Pākehā) and by School EQI (or Equity Index) Band.
Response
In response to your request, please see the attached spreadsheet
PRS-6267 OC02065 v1.0 under
the ‘Overall’, ‘By Ethnicity’ and ‘by EQI Band’ worksheets.
In addition to the achievement rate (pass rate), we have provided you with the counts of assessed
and achieved results by students with active secondary enrolments in each of the two Literacy
(32403 and 32405), Numeracy (32406), te Reo Matatini (32414) and te Pāngarau (32412) co
requisite standards piloted in 2021 and 2022.
For Ethnicity, please note that a student may have up to three ethnicities associated with their
enrolment. The Total response provides a record for each of the ‘level 1’ ethnicities for each student
so the sum of each ethnicity may be greater that the total.
Under section 9(2)(a) of the OIA, to protect the privacy of natural persons, the numbers and rates of
achievement have been withheld where the number of assessed results is fewer than five.
Our response to your request may be published on our website after five working days. Your name
and contact details wil be removed before publication.
If you require further assistance or believe we have misinterpreted your request, please contact
Elizabeth Templeton in the Office of the Chief Executive, email
[email address]
or telephone (04) 463 3339.
