Official Information Act request for heavy rain warnings and rainfall data between 
April and May 2023. 
I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your official information request dated 12 August 
2025  for  hourly  rainfal   data  from  MetService  for  the  Whangārei  Airport/Aerodrome 
station from 15 April 2023 to 15 May 2023. I would also like time-stamped records of 
when (during the period of 15 April 2023 to 15 May 2023) any heavy rain watches or 
warnings were issued, updated, or cancel ed - plus their exact wording. 
We  received  your  request  on  12 August 2025.  We  wil   endeavour  to  respond  to  your 
request as soon as possible and in any event no later than 9 September 2025, being 20 
working days after the day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your 
request by then, we wil  notify you of an extension of that timeframe.
