The 2026 HRC Project and Programme round has not opened yet. 
The HRC Council are working to introduce changes to increase the responsiveness,  meliness and alignment with 
government priori es and expecta ons of the round, as well as improving the clarity, transparency and direc on we 
provide to the research sector in this regard. 
We also need to make changes to improve the efficiency and reduce the costs associated with running the round 
following no fica on of our $590K reduc on in budget. 
We are working as quickly as we can to make the changes, open the round and communicate these changes to the 
sector. 
Please note this work is confiden al at present. We have a holding communica on advising the research sector that we 
will confirm the round opening dates in August.
