Your request for information under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (LGOIMA)
– CAS-1169456-X4P1H3
Kia ora Vee,
I refer to your request for information dated 7 August 2025 asking for confirmation of whether three
named drivers — Deepanshu Sharma (Cab 216), Sukhpal Singh (Cab 518), and Karan Majhu (Cab
184) — have been banned from transporting Total Mobility (TM) customers.
We are unable to confirm or deny whether any specific individual has been excluded from the
scheme. This is because doing so would involve disclosing personal information about identifiable
individuals. Accordingly, this part of your request is refused under section 7(2)(a) of the LGOIMA, in
order to protect the privacy of natural persons.
AT takes the integrity of the Total Mobility scheme very seriously. Drivers may be excluded from
participating in the scheme for a range of reasons, including but not limited to breaches of the TM
scheme rules. Such exclusions may be initiated either by the TM operator (e.g. Blue Bubble
Auckland Co-op) or by AT, and are only made following appropriate due process.
We can advise that where a driver is excluded from the TM scheme by one operator, and AT
becomes aware that the driver is seeking to join another TM operator, it is our practice to share the
fact of exclusion with the prospective operator. This enables them to make an informed decision
about the driver’s suitability to represent their company under the TM scheme.
We also note that drivers may be re-admitted to the scheme under certain circumstances — for
example, if the exclusion was due to a temporary issue such as an expired qualification. In cases
involving misconduct, we expect TM operators to exercise caution and to closely monitor any re-
admitted driver’s compliance with the scheme’s requirements.
Should you believe that we have not dealt with your request appropriately, you are able to make a
complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA Act
and seek an investigation and review regarding this matter.
Ngā mihi,
