Official Information Act request for names of organisations and individuals who 
received grants through the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism Fund 
 
Thank you for your follow-up to your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received 
on 5 August 2025. Your request was for: 
 
“I am writing this again as I was not given a list of the organisations and 
individuals who recevied funding under the - Preventing and Countering Violent 
Extremism Fund. 
I would like a list of ALL individuals and organisations. Not the projects. The 
people and organizations who received the funding.” 
 
The recipients of the grants through the Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism Fund 
that operated from 2022 to 2025 are available on the Department of the Prime Minister and 
Cabinet  (DPMC)  website.  The  names  of  the  recipients  of  the  grants  together  with  other 
details of each of the projects can be found at: www.dpmc.govt.nz/our-programmes/national-
security/counter-terrorism/preventing-and-countering-violent-extremism-fund. 
 
As  the  information  you  have  requested  is  already  publicly  available,  I  am  refusing  your 
request under section 18(d) of the Act. 
 
For completeness, you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my 
decision under section 28(3) of the Act. 
 
This response wil  be published on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s 
website during our regular publication cycle. Typically, information is released monthly, or as 
otherwise determined. Your personal information including name and contact details will be 
removed for publication.
