Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (the Act) of 5 August requesting: 
 
On 13 May 2025 I lodged an information request to you via the fyi.org.nz site. 
 
The information requested was described as follows 
 
'When you were appointed Minister of Workplace Relations and Safety you 
received a briefing (dated November 2023) from the Ministry of Business, 
Innovation and Employment. 
That document included a number of redactions. 
It is now some 18 months later and any time-sensitivity in relation to those 
redactions would no longer apply. 
Please provide copies of content that was redacted at paragraph 89 of the 
briefing and in the table on page 36 of the briefing.' 
 
This information requested was finally provided as part of a document release on 
31 July 2025, or 55 working days after you received my request. 
 
I am interested in the reasons for this delay in providing the information and are 
therefore now requesting all communications relating to the processing of my 13 
May request, including the assessment of the request and the preparation of your 
responses to this information request." 
 
I have attached the documents in scope of your request. Please note some 
information has been withheld under s9(2)(a) of the Act to protect the privacy of 
natural persons.  
 
I do not consider that the withholding of this information is outweighed by public 
interest considerations in making the information available.
