Request made under the Official Information Act 1982 
 
Thank you for your email of 5 August 2025 requesting the fol owing information under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act): 
 
1. Al  written correspondence (including emails, letters, meeting minutes, and internal memos) 
between Tesla and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, or any of their representatives, relating to 
the Clean Car Discount scheme. 
 
2. This request covers the period from 1 January 2020 to 31 October 2023, or to the most recent 
date of record available. 
 
On 12 August 2025, we emailed you seeking clarification on your request, as the scope would capture 
applications that Tesla made on behalf of its clients, which wil  include a lot of private information. We 
asked if you were more interested in emails between NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) and 
Tesla as the administrator of the Clean Car Discount (CCD) scheme. 
 
We followed up with you on 15 August and 26 August 2025 but have not received a reply to date. 
Therefore, we have interpreted the scope of your request to not include the emails regarding 
applications under the CCD scheme. 
 
The fol owing document contains emails that fal  within the scope of your request and is enclosed: 
•  OIA-19175 emails. 
 
Please feel free to make another request to NZTA regarding this, and if you are seeking information 
about applications for clean car rebates made on behalf of customers, these wil  contain private 
information that would need to be withheld and may be released in a heavily redacted state.
