Official Information Act request relating to the consideration of issuing a third 
Emergency Mobile Alert on 31 July or 1 August 2025 
 
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 4 August 
2025. You requested: 
 
“Please provide All records, including emails, meeting minutes and other documents 
pertaining to consideration of the issuance of a third emergency alert on 31 July 2025 
or 1 August 2025” 
 
I can confirm the National Emergency Management Agency did not consider issuing a third 
alert in relation to this event. As such, no material has been identified as falling within scope 
of your request. Accordingly, I refuse your request under section 18(e) of the Act, as the 
information does not exist.  
 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under 
section 28(3) of the Act. 
 
This response wil  be published on the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s 
website during our regular publication cycle. Typically, information is released monthly, or as 
otherwise determined. Your personal information including name and contact details will be
