Dear Barry,
Official Information request - Advice provided regarding emergency notification on 31
July 2025
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request of 31 July 2025 regarding
advice provided related to the Emergency Mobile Alert (EMA) issued on that date.
You specifically requested:
Under the OIA, please provide me with:
1. all information and briefings and reports you were provided with regarding the
emergency alert issued on 31 July 2025 (both information provided before and
after the emergency alert was issued).
2. all responses, questions and comments you provided in relation to that
information, briefings and reports.
On 5 December my office contacted you to acknowledge the receipt of your request of 31
July and to apologise for the delay caused by an administrative error.
In August 2025 the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) and the National
Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) released responses to OIA requests related to the
EMA issued of 31 July 2025. These responses include the information, briefings, and reports
