Thank you for your email dated 27 July 2025 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council (the
Council) requesting the following information:
1. Road Closure Details – Jessie and Tory Streets
a) The specific dates on which Jessie Street and Tory Street (central Wel ington) were closed to
traffic during June and July 2025.
b) The official detour route provided to motorists during this closure.
2. Bus Lane / Special Vehicle Infringements – Cambridge Terrace (Northbound)
a) The number of infringement notices issued for use of the bus lane or special vehicle lane in
the north-bound direction of Cambridge Terrace, between Vivian Street and Tennyson Street,
for each of the fol owing periods:

-- 9 June to 15 June 2025
-- 16 June to 22 June 2025

Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act
1987 (LGOIMA).
Question 1 -
Road Closure Details – Jessie and Tory Streets
a) The specific dates on which Jessie Street and Tory Street (central Wel ington) were closed to
traffic during June and July 2025.
b) The official detour route provided to motorists during this closure.
There was one road closure on Jessie Street and Tory Street during June and July 2025.
This involved re-laying an existing wastewater pipe from jessie Street to Tory Street, which included
relining, flushing and camera work. This work occurred on 26 June 2025 to 30 June 2025.
Alongside this response is a document titled ‘Appendix 1’ which provides copies of the detour routes
for the above works. Please note, some information has been redacted under section 7(2)(a) of the
LGOIMA, as it contains personal information.
Question 2 -
Bus Lane / Special Vehicle Infringements – Cambridge Terrace (Northbound)

a)
The number of infringement notices issued for use of the bus lane or special vehicle lane in
the north-bound direction of Cambridge Terrace, between Vivian Street and Tennyson Street
b) The total dol ar value of fines issued for each of the above periods.
Due to the positioning of our enforcement cameras, we are unable to isolate data for that specific
section of the road. Therefore, this part of your request has been refused under section 17(g) of the
LGOIMA because the requested information is not held to the level of detail requested.
However, we can provide the total number of infringement notices issued for use of the bus lane or
special vehicle lane in the north-bound direction of Cambridge Terrace during the requested
timeframe, this information is below:
