Dear Matthew
OIA2526_25 – Governor’s Departure
Thank you for your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) on 23 July 2025, to the
Reserve Bank of New Zealand – Te Pūtea Matua (RBNZ), for:
the “Statement of Concerns” email of 27 February discussed in this news report:

responds-to-allegations-around-adrian-orrs-resignation/MHS25A2LUREEPA7ASETUJPJOSU/
Response
We are writing to inform you that we need to extend the timeframe to respond to your request by
20 working days from the date of this letter, under section 15A(1)(b) of the OIA. The extension is
required as the consultations that are necessary to make a decision on your request are such that
a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

resignation of Mr Orr, at
: https://www.rbnz.govt.nz/hub/publications/oias/oia-requests-
for-information-about-the-resignation-of-adrian-orr.
• The RBNZ’s June 11 response is currently subject to review and investigation by the Of ice
of the Ombudsman.
We aim to provide you with a response as soon as possible, and no later than 16 September 2025.
Please feel free to contact us if you wish to discuss this letter. Alternatively, you have the right to
seek an investigation and review of this response by the Of ice of the Ombudsman. Further
information about how to make a complaint is available at
