Thank you for your Official Information Act (OIA) request, received on 22 July 2025.
You requested:
In light of your recent comments of council spending, I would like to know if you 
and your government has an agenda to defund parks, libraries, hal s, pools and 
force councils to sel  of their pensioner flats?
In my view, it would have been necessary under section 14 of the OIA to transfer your 
request as the information requested is more closely connected to the functions of the 
Minister of Local Government. However, I am aware that you have already made your 
request to the Minister of Local Government and therefore we have not transferred it. I
have no additional information available that is not already covered by the Minister of 
Local Government.
This reply addresses the information you requested. Under section 28(3) of the OIA,
you have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review any decisions made under this
