Thank you for your request of 21 July, asking for for the information under the Official Information Act
1982 (the Act). On 18 August 2025, we emailed you to advise that we were extending our timeframe to
make a decision on your request to 1 September 2025. On 1 September 2025, we notified you of our
decision on your requests. This letter provides our final response.
In order to provide you with the context for our decision and further information in the public interest,
we are providing with you with the following statement alongside our response to your request:
The ACC Board commissioned Doug Craig and Pip Muir to undertake an independent review into
workplace culture at ACC. A substantial number of staff participated in formal interviews as part
of the review process, with a number more providing written submissions.
In early June the Board received confidential approaches from four ACC staff expressing
concerns about the review process. The alleged concerns centred on the interview approach
adopted by Mr Craig in some meetings.
The Board considered the alleged concerns and agreed steps with the two reviewers to ensure
that the independent review could be completed appropriately by them and in accordance with
the Terms of Reference.
Approximately two weeks later, Mr Craig separately resigned from his role as a reviewer for health
reasons.
