Dear Doug,
 Thank you for your email of today’s date resigning as a reviewer effective from 2 July 2025.
 I am very sorry to hear of your health issues but fully understand your position, and I
accept your decision to step down.
 Thank you for your suggested course of working with Pip to enable an efficient transfer of
all existing review materials to her by 2 July 2025.  I support that proposal.
 I will need to inform the Minister and ACC staff of the above changes.  I do not propose to
go into any detail, but will instead simply refer to health issues as the reason for your
decision to resign.  I will also thank you and Pip for the work undertaken to date on this
important review.
 Finally, please accept my best wishes for a full and swift recovery.

Kia ora David,
As you will be aware I am currently unwell and not able to work on the Review. 
Section 9(2)(a)
Regretfully I have come to the decision that, in the interests of my health, I cannot continue as a
Reviewer.
I have discussed this with Pip and what the best pathway forward is for the Review, given we
have now concluded all of the interviews (as of today!).
Previously all of my interview notes have been summarised and provided to Pip for assessment
against the interviews we conducted together and by Pip. We agreed that alongside a handover
session to be held next Wednesday, that this will be sufficient to enable Pip to have a full view of
the whole of the interviews and to be able to continue with the Review past that point.
I am there formally tendering to you and the Board my resignation as a Reviewer as from
Wednesday 2 July 2025.
I wish you and the Board well and thank you for the opportunity to work on this important
Review.
