I am responding to your email of 19 July 2025 to the Department of Internal Affairs (the
Department) requesting the fol owing under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I note that the terms and conditions of the Gazette state ‘Al notices submitted must have
a legislative requirement to be published in the New Zealand Gazette and submitters
must have the authority to request publication of their content.’
I would like to request any information, standard processes, or internal guidance relating
to how submissions of notices are handled when they do not reference legislation or
there is no legislative requirement to publish the notice.
Response to your request
There are excerpts from the fol owing two documents that fal within the scope of your
request:

New Zealand Gazette : Gazette Admin User Guide/SOP; and
•
New Zealand Gazette: Team User Guide.
I am releasing the relevant excerpts from both documents, attached as
Appendix A.
