Thank you for your request of 18 July 2025 to Te Kaunihera o Pōneke | Wellington City Council (the
Council) as a follow up to your previous request ref: IRC-8632. You requested the following
information:

states:
59. "Council officers have met numerous times with RoW users and residents that have legal
access over the RoW. There has been a general consensus that a resolution is needed
regarding the condition of the RoW and how long-term maintenance is to be addressed and
funded."
Could you please list these meetings, their dates, attendees, and the notes the above were
summarised as "general consensus".
We note that the above consensus of these meetings makes no mention of a need for greater
security using the road.”
Your request has been considered under the Local Government Of icial Information and Meetings Act
1987 (LGOIMA).
We have found one set of meeting minutes regarding the Hawkins Hil Road Right of Way (RoW).
Please find attached to this letter, the minutes from the November 2016 meeting with Long Gully
residents. Resident names have been withheld pursuant to section 7(2)(a) of the LGOIMA to protect
the privacy of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons. As these meetings
occurred nine years ago, we could not find any additional records.
As per section 7(1) of the LGOIMA, I do not consider that in the circumstances of this response, the
withholding of this information is outweighed by the other considerations which render it desirable to
in the public interest to make the information available.

You have the right, by way of complaint under section 28(1) of the LGOIMA, to request an
investigation and review of the Council’s decision to withhold information by the Ombudsman.
