Thank you for your email of 15 July 2025 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) requesting,
under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
Can you please provide me with a list of all payments made by the Ministry of Business, Innovation &
Employment and its subsidiaries to the UN and its subsidiaries over the last 10 years. This can be in
summary format.
On 12 September 2025, we wrote to you to advise that a decision had been made on your request and that a
response was expected by 26 September 2025. I sincerely apologise for the delay in responding.
Since 2019 MBIE has made payments to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Office of
the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). The tables below summarise these payments.

Funding for human rights-based
campaigns
MBIE has also made payments to other organisations, including the International Organization for Migration (IOM)
and the World Intel ectual Property Organisation (WIPO). These organisations are separate and independent from
the United Nations (UN); however, they maintain formal relationship agreements with the UN. This classification is
based on the UN system chart available here www.un.org/sites/un2.un.org/files/un_system_chart.pdf. For this
reason, MBIE’s payments for services provided to these organisations have not been included in this response but
can be provided on request.
