Thank you for your official information request received on 14 July 2025 for “Confirmation
of whether the public are excluded from accessing LINZ Crown managed properties on
the West Coast under the Napails ID’s:
• 2716016
• 292796
• 2710031
Parcel 292796 appeared to be a typo, and we believe that the intended parcel to be
referenced was 2927967. Please let us know if this was the parcel you were asking for
information on.
Currently Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) has no restrictions in
place excluding the public from accessing any of the parcels you have asked about
(including 2927967).
However, as there is an active mining operation on these parcels, if the operator of the
mining operation applied to LINZ to restrict access in the interest of public safety LINZ
would consider any such application that could result in some areas may have restricted
access.
