Thank you for your email of 14 July 2025 to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, which was 
transferred to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), requesting, 
under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing information: 
 
I noted, you have recently cal  for nomination for Invest New Zealand

May I ask how you cal ed for public nomination and on what platform you have call for public 
nominations e.g. govt.jobs website. A copy of your ad as well. Also, how many applications 
you have received for each of the role from the public and how many you have received from 
other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for your role. How many 
you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed. Also, can I request to view the 
appointment letter if there is one sent to the previous appointee. I am happy for you to 
remove all the personal information. 
 
The Minister for Trade and Investment carried out a targeted search and has made short 
term appointments of 6 months to establish a Board (Chair and two members) by 1 July 
2025. 
 
The Minister did not make a call for public nominations or advertise for these three roles. 
 
Attached is an appointment letter for one of the members 6-month term of appointment. 
Some information has been withheld under section 9(2)(a) of the Act, to protect the privacy 
of natural persons, including that of deceased natural persons. 
 
I do not consider that the withholding of this information is outweighed by public interest 
considerations in making the information available.
