Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-041434
Thank you for your email of 10 July 2025, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request the fol owing information regarding payments
made to assessors over the last five years (2020-2025):
Information Requested:
Total payments made to the top 10 highest-paid Impairment assessors,
Vocational assessors or similar
For each of the top 10 earners in each category, please provide:
Total amount paid (2020-2025)
Annual breakdown by year
Number of assessments completed (if available)
On 15 July 2025, you confirmed your request is for:
• the number of referrals undertaken and the total payments made to the 10 highest-paid
Impairment Assessors who undertake permanent impairment assessments by calendar year
since 1 Jan 2020
• the number of referrals undertaken and the total payments made to the 10 highest-paid
Medical Assessors who provide assessments under the Vocational Medical Services contract
by calendar year since 1 Jan 2020
You also requested the following additional information:
‘…please include the name of the provider as well’.
Referrals and payments to assessors
In response to your request we are providing you with information that shows the number of referrals
and payments made to the ten highest paid medical and impairment assessors. This information is
provided in the attached Appendix. Please refer to the notes about the data provided.

Withheld information
We have withheld the following information for privacy reasons:
• The names of the top 10 highest paid medical assessors and impairment assessors
• The exact values for assessment referrals and costs. Instead, we are providing this information
in 50 and $50,000 ranges.
We have withheld this information under section 9(2)(a) of the Act. In doing so, we have considered the
public interest in making the information available and have determined that it does not outweigh the
need to protect our providers’ privacy.
As this information may be of interest to other members of the public
ACC may publish a copy of this response on ACC’s website. All requester data, including your name
and contact details, will be removed prior to release. The released response will be made available
