Thank you for your Of icial Information Act 1982 (OIA) request, which was transferred in part 
from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet on 11 July 2025 and sought: 
“-copies of advice given to the Minister of Police regarding the designation of Proud 
Boys as a terrorist organisation either in advance of, or subsequent to, its listing 
being allowed to lapse in 2025. 
-Any information whether in written or verbal briefings, emails or texts since its listing 
as a terrorist organisation about New Zealand citizens or residents who identify or 
present themselves as ' Proud Boys'  on social media.” 
I have not received any information relevant to either part of your request. Accordingly, your 
request is refused under section 18(e) of the OIA, as the information requested does not 
exist. 
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to review my decision if you are not satisfied with 
my response to your request.
