Thank you for your email on 9 June 2025, asking Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora for the 
following under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA):  
The median wait times for patients to be admitted to the emergency department at 
Wellington hospital, divided into each triage category 1-5 for each month in 2023 and 2024.  
Response 
The table below summarises by triage level and year / month of discharge the median number of 
minutes from arrival to discharge for patients presenting to Wellington Emergency Department. 
This data is from presentation to ED and then discharge to a ward.
