Thank you for your 7 June 2025 to the Ministry of Business, Innovafion and Employment (MBIE) 
requesfing, under the Official Informafion Act 1982 (the Act), the fol owing informafion: 
 
I would like to request all documents related to the HMAS Canberra radar interference incident of 
June 4. 
 
On 7 July 2025, MBIE nofified you of an extension to the fimeframe for response unfil 11 August 2025. 
MBIE then provided a decision on your request. Please find aftached the documentafion relevant to your 
request. We have interpreted “all documents” to include emails. Where emails have been found within 
your date range of 4-7 June, the longer email chains have been included.   
 
Please note some informafion has been withheld under the fol owing secfions of the Act: 
  6(a), to prejudice the security or defence of New Zealand or the international relations of the 
Government of New Zealand; 
  6(b)(i), to prejudice the entrusting of information to the Government of New Zealand on a basis 
of confidence by the Government of any other country or any agency of such a Government; and 
  9(2)(a), to protect the privacy of natural persons. 
 
I do not consider that the withholding of this informafion is outweighed by public interest considerafions 
in making the informafion available.
