I refer to your request(s) under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) received on 3 June 2025 
requesting the following information from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment 
(Ministry): 
 
“As responded by INZ, there wil  be a new guideline for Hepatitis B medical assessor on 
residency visa. I wonder if the new guideline for hepatitis B is already in effective. If yes, can 
you please provide the guideline? If no, when is it going to be in effective (any approximate 
timeframe)?”.  
 
Our Response 
 
The updated medical assessor guidelines for Hepatitis B are stil  under development and have not 
yet been finalised or implemented. However, we acknowledge your interest in this matter and wil  
ensure that a copy of the guideline is provided to you once it has been finalised and implemented.
