Your Official Information Act request, reference: GOV-041486 Thank you for your request of 14 July 2025, asking for the following information under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act):
I therefore request that the missing details from Question 2 (specifically for any executive
expenditure that falls under ‘long-term accommodation arrangements’) now be provided in full.
Our response We advised in our previous response of 14 July 2025 (ref: GOV-040545) that ACC has contributed to
some executives’ accommodation costs through their employment agreements. We acknowledge the
public interest in spending by public service organisations, such as ACC. However, there is also strong
privacy and public interest with respect to protecting individual employment details and keeping
employment agreements confidential for negotiation purposes.
We have decided to withhold this payment information under the following grounds:
• Section 9(2)(a): to protect the privacy of natural persons.
• Section 9(2)(j): to carry on, without prejudice or disadvantage, negotiations (including
commercial and industrial negotiations).
In making this decision, we considered the public interest in making the information available and
determined that on balance, it does not outweigh the reasons for withholding.
