Thank you for your email of 2 June 2025 requesting information relating to nominations for
the Veterinary Council of New Zealand. Your request has been considered under the Official
Information Act 1982 (OIA).
You requested the following:
May I ask how you called for public nomination and on what platform you have call
for public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website.
The call for nominations for the Veterinary Council of New Zealand were made to the public
on Seek and the Government jobs website (www.jobs.govt.nz) as well as the Ministry for
Primary Industries (MPI) career website

How many applications you have received from the public and how many you have
received from other nominating agencies such as TPK or Ministry of women etc for
your role.
15 applications were received in total. No applications were received from other nominating
agencies.
How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed.
Three candidates have been shortlisted and interviews are currently being scheduled.
When you expect the process wil be concluded and how many vacancies you had
this round- 2025.
There was one vacancy for the position. MPI expects that the process of identifying
appropriate candidates for Agriculture Minister Todd McClay to consider wil be concluded in
the coming months. Final decisions on appointments need to be confirmed by Cabinet and
the final announcements wil be made by Minister McClay as the Minister of Agriculture.
