Thank you for your email of 2 June 2025 requesting information, under the Official 
Information Act 1982 (the Act), regarding Disputes Tribunal (Tribunal) referees. Specifically, 
you requested:  
The name of the current referees, Disputes Tribunal in the following regions, 
Whangārei, Tauranga, Rotorua, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. 
For each Disputes Tribunal referee in the following regions—Whangārei, Tauranga, 
Rotorua, Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch—could you please provide their 
current term of appointment, including the start and expiry dates? 
Pay rate for the Referees, Disputes Tribunal. 
Also, how many referees (upper limited) you are al ow to have per each regions, -
Whangārei, Tauranga, Rotorua, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. 
In response to part one and two of your request, Table One shows the names and current 
terms for Tribunal referees in Whangārei, Auckland, Tauranga, Rotorua, Wellington and 
Christchurch. 
The daily pay rate paid to a Tribunal referee is $910, based on an eight-hour sit ing day. 
There is no set number of appointments that can be made to a region. Appointments are 
recommended based on the caseload in each region.
