Thank you for your email of 31 May 2025 to the Ministry of Education (the Ministry) requesting the 
following information:  
Under the Official Information Act 1982, I request copies of al  communications received be, 
AND sent to, the science subject associations: SCENZ, NZASE, NZIP, BEANZ from April 
1st to May 31st. To aid your request, the following email addresses are provided:

Should meeting minutes be absent, then a record of who was present. 
On 11 June 2025, the Ministry wrote to you to refine your request, due to its broad nature. You

Your request has been considered under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act). 
The Ministry needs to extend the timeframe for responding to your request, pursuant to sections 
15A(1)(a) and 15A(1)(b) of the Act, as the request necessitates a search through a large quantity 
of information, and consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a 
proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit. You can now expect to 
receive a response to your request on or before 8 August 2025, which is an extension of 20 
working days, from the date the request was refined on 12 June 2025. 
You have the right to ask an Ombudsman to investigate our decision to extend the timeframe for 
responding to this request, in accordance with section 28 of the Act. You can do this by writing to
