Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) received correspondence on 24 September 
2025, from the Office of the Ombudsman regarding our previous response to your request for 
official information dated 16 July 2025. On 18 December 2025, we issued a reconsidered response 
to your request and provided you with some further information.  
On 9 January 2026, the Office of the Ombudsman contacted Health NZ to advise that the 
complaint was resolved, and that Health NZ could consider the ‘plans and cross sections for a 
modular transportable unit’ aspect of your request as the information may now exist. 
Response 
At the time of your initial request, the plans for modular units did not yet exist. However, the plans 
are now available. The Nelson Hospital modular transportable impatient unit plans are attached to 
this letter as Appendix One and are released to you in full.   
If you are not happy with this response, you have the right to make a complaint to the
