Tēnā koe Josh,
Thank you for your request to the Department of Conservation (DOC), received on 26 May
2025, in which you asked about the current status of a few vehicles formerly associated with the
DOC Clyde Rural Fire Centre.
Specifically, you are looking to confirm whether the following vehicles are still operational and
stationed at the Clyde Rural Fire Centre, or if they have since been disposed of or transferred to
Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ):
• 1997 Toyota Hilux – Registration: UY3089
• 2006 Ford Courier XLT – Registration: DMY39
• Tanker Trailer – Registration: 5326S
We have considered your request under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA).
We have checked in the Department’s fleet systems, and the registrations for those vehicles do
not exist. We have also checked with FENZ, and they advise that the trailer 5326S was
transferred to them and they disposed of it in 2021. They cannot find any record of the other two
vehicles.
We do not hold a record of when (or if) those other vehicles were disposed of or transferred to
FENZ.
Accordingly, this request is refused in full subject to section 18(g) as the information requested
is not held by the Department and we have no grounds for believing that the information is held
by another agency.
You are entitled to seek an investigation and review of my decision by writing to an Ombudsman
as provided by section 28(3) of the OIA.
Released under Official Information Act 1982
Please note that this letter (with your personal details removed) and attached documents may
be published on DOC’s website.
