Re: Wil ow species in Te Henga Wetlands 
 
 
Thank you for your email of 20 May 2025, requesting information about Willow species in Te 
Henga wetlands. The specific details of your request and our response are below. 
  •  I would like to know how many varieties of willow have been identified in Te 
Henga Wetlands please. 
 
Environmental Services staff at Auckland Council are aware of two species of wil ow in Te 
Henga wetland: crack willow (Salix fragilis) and grey willow (Salix cinerea). 
 
The decision by Auckland Council to release the information contained in this response was 
made by Samantha Hil , General Manager - Environmental Services.
