I am responding to your email of 16 May 2025 to the Department of Internal Affairs (the 
Department) requesting the fol owing information under the Official Information Act 1982 
(the Act): 
…copies of: 
- Al  communications between the TAB and or Entain and the Department of Internal 
Affairs regarding the Racing Industry Amendment Bil  since the first reading of the Bil  
- Al  communications between the TAB and or Entain and the Ministers office regarding 
the Racing Industry Amendment Bil  since the first reading of the Bil  
- Al  advice to the Minister on amendments to the proposed Bil  since the first reading 
of the Bil  
Under sections 15A(1)(b) of the Act, the timeframe to respond to your original request has 
been extended by 6 working days from 16 June 2025 to 25 June 2025. The extension is 
required because the consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such 
that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time 
limit. 
I wil  endeavour to respond to your request before this extended due date. 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision.
