Responses to your questions are set out below.
How did the Department cal for nominations, and what platforms did you use to cal for
public nominations e.g. govt.jobs website?
The Department advertised the role on the New Zealand Lottery Grants Board on the
Department’s statutory appointment page at www.dia.govt.nz/Appointments-to-Statutory-
Bodies and on SEEK, Appoint Better Boards, the Institute of Directors and Kumara Vine.
Applications were also sought from nominating agencies like the Ministry for Ethnic
Communities, the Ministry for Women, the Ministry for Pacific Peoples, Te Puni Kokiri and
the Treasury.
The Minister of Internal Affairs also sought nominations from her parliamentary colleagues.
A copy of the advertisement.
Please find the attached copy of the advertisement as
Appendix A.
How many applications did you receive from the public and nominating agencies?
The Department has received 124 applications in total. Of these, three applications were
endorsed by the Ministry for Ethnic Communities, and five applicants learned of the vacancy
from the Ministry for Women’s nomination service. The remaining 116 applicants learned
about the role through public advertising channels.
How many you have shortlisted and how many you have interviewed?
Shortlisting has not yet been completed as the applications are under assessment stage. This
is indicative that no interviews have taken place. Therefore, this part of your request is
refused under 18(e) of the Act, as the information does not exist.
A copy of the appointment letter if there is one sent to the previous appointee.
